Introduction: As a nation undergoing rapid economic transition, Vietnam is also faced with a transition
is relation to major public health challenges such as increasing rates of cardiovascular
disease including stroke, hypertension and heart failure. Community-based population
data on hypertension and heart failure prevalence are limited. The aim of the current
study was to determine, in a randomly selected sub-group of participants involved
in a large epidemiological survey, the prevalence of left ventricular diastolic dysfunction
(LVDD) in a community setting.
