Objective: Recent literature has raised questions about the quality of vein conduit harvested
endoscopically and its potential negative impact on medium term survival. The possibility
of a learning curve has been sited as an explanation. In October of 2007, our unit
commenced endoscopic vein harvest (EVH) of conduits for coronary artery bypass grafting
(CABG). We present data on our initial patients who had EVH in our institution and
compare them to a matched cohort.
